Bukit Jelutong Pumping Station

This is part of the capacity redistribution of the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 Water Treatment works. Originally water from the Bukit Jelutong Reservoir flows by gravity to the HICOM Reservoir. Due to projected increase in demand, this water will instead be pumped from the supply reservoir.

SKE Alliance Sdn Bhd undertook the bulk of the works, which included the following:

Civil works:

  • Earthworks and piling
  • Construction of the outlet chamber and coring of existing tanks
  • Construction of the TNB switch room, 11kV switchgear room and transformer room
  • Construction of the booster pumping station

Mechanical & electrical works:

  • Supply, install, test and commission 3 vertical split casing booster pumps with the associated fittings, capable of delivering 105 MLD (million litres a day) each.
  • Supply, lay and tie-in new pipes via hot-tapping into the existing pipeworks
  • Supply, install, test and commission the electrical, instrumentation and telemetry system
  • Supply, install, test and commission an 11 ton electric overhead crane

The project was completed on time and successfully commissioned. The defects liability period has since lapsed with no major issues.
